The wealthiest 10% of New Zealanders have 50% of New Zealand’s wealth, while the bottom 50% of New Zealanders have only 2%. 

This is a result of years of political choices to help the rich get richer and make the poor poorer. 

What’s more unjust is that New Zealand's 311 wealthiest families pay less than half the amount of tax than most New Zealanders.

The 311 wealthiest families pay a median effective tax rate of 9.4 per cent, compared with 20.2 per cent for "middle wealth New Zealanders”. 

A fair tax on the richest New Zealanders’ wealth is necessary to allow the rest of us a fair chance. Would you support a wealth tax?
