The following is to document what the effects of clear cutting are doing to New Zealand's landscape and what happens to the pollution of the unharvested wood when it is washed down the mountains with millions of tons of topsoil when there is a major storm. These photos and the video are taken from a drone this winter, 2023 after  Gabrielle. The trees may look like small toothpicks from the altitude of the drone, but do not be misled, they are large trees.
Our local council is backing the forestry companies by saying that the fallen and washed down trees and debris can not be proved to be from forestry industry. Can anyone believe that they would make this statement?
The logs are so thick it is dangerous to climb to the water. 
Is it not the responsibility of the Government who owns the "Queen's Chain" to make the forestry companies clean up their pollution? Are the population and the tourists to be denied clean beaches?
